Valentine's Day is only a few weeks away, which means that you need to start planning now if you don't want to end up walking through the hoardes of people at the mall to buy yet another perfume or watch. Here are some travel deals perfect to surprise your honey with for Valentine's Day:
Silverado Resort and Spa Seasonal Cabernet Season Special
What can be more romantic than sipping wine in front of a fireplace while a good movie plays in the background? Doing it in a one-bedroom suite at Napa Valley's Silverado Resort and Spa with golf and spa discounts thrown in. For as low as $179, you'll stay in a one bedroom-suite at the resort, get a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, an in-room movie, 20% off any service at the spa, use of the golf range, and more. The special is valid for the following dates: February 5-9, 12-15, 20-23, 26-29.
If your significant other is more into nature than fancy wining and dining, check out this deal from another discount site that has you staying at the Madera Valley Inn for two nights for only $89. For that low price, you'll get a room for two for two nights and a bottle of wine. The Madera Valley Inn is conveniently located near the Yosemite and Sequoia-Kings Canyon national parks. You must use the voucher by July 24, 2012. Be sure to make the reservation as soon as you purchase the voucher. For high-demand dates, such as around Valentine's Day, it's a good idea to call the property beforehand to inquire whether they have availability.
Monterey spa and hotel
Combine a spa deal with a hotel deal in Monterey and you'll be loved even more for your frugal ways. Larkspur Hotels has a "stay 2 nights and receive 50% off the second night" offer that is good for several of their hotels in California, including the wonderful Casa Munras Hotel and Spa. The property is within walking distance Fisherman's Wharf and downtown, has a relaxing spa and chic restaurant (definitely get their medjool dates stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon), and fits in perfectly with Monterey's Spanish history with its hacienda-inspired architecture. The offer is good through March 31, 2012 with some blackout dates. For Casa Munras, it's not valid for the weekends before and after Valentine's Day but is available with a two-night minimum on Valentine's Day itself. If you can get off work, you'll pay $156.75 for a Traditional King room rather than $209. Then on the 13th or 15th, go to the Accista Spa at the Hyatt Regency Monterey for some serious pampering. For $159, you'll get two body treatments and full use of the spa's amenities, which include sauna, whirlpools, steam room, and waterfall showers, and wine between the two of you. If you must go on the weekend, then book a room at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa, for $179 for one night or $299 for two nights, for the Friday or Saturday following Valentine's Day. You'll also get a $70 credit for dinner at TusCA Ristorante and a bottle of wine.
