Valentine’s Day is a tradition handed down through the centuries, and in the 1500s became connected to romance. Although celebrated various ways throughout history, we celebrate modern Valentine’s Day with gifts, wines, and foods.
A special way to celebrate is to spend the day together, and here is a recipe to start it out perfectly!
Old-fashioned Fluffy Pancake Recipe
Ingredients for making Fluffy Pancakes:
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¾ tsp. salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions for making Fluffy Pancakes:
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (for the fluffiest pancake, stir these ingredients together for a minute or two with a whisk). Stir in the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla – mix until smooth.
Drop by ¼ cup on a lightly oiled griddle on medium high heat. Cook on one side, then flip to the other until brown on both sides. Serve hot with butter, syrup, or jam.
