Celebrate love this Valentine's Day with these sweet ideas for throwing your child a Valentine's Day party.

Invitations: Make your own heart invitations. Start with red and pink card stock, cut and glue a large pink heart on top of the red card. Using a red gel or glitter pen, hand-write the party details on the pink heart. Decorate the red trim with jewels and glitter.

Decorations: You can't have too much pink for this party. Add red accessories and lots of hearts. Check out these heart decorations available at  Party City in Lone Tree.  Decorate with pink and red balloons, streamers and paper lanterns.  Set the table with pink table cloths and sprinkle red hearts of various sizes all around. Use all red tableware or purchase heart designed tableware like one found at Party City.

Food & Drinks: Large cookie cutters make really cute heart-shaped sandwiches. Try  PB & J, ham & cheese or cream cheese with thinly sliced cucumber. Serve crackers and heart-shaped cheese slices. Offer fresh fruit kabobs with lots of red and pink fruits like strawberries, watermelon and red grapes.  As another easy, but festive, food option try Papa Murphy's Valentine Special: Heart-Shaped Pizzas. To drink, serve pink lemonade in tall glasses. Wal-Mart has some cute red and pink polka dot glasses for just $1 each. Rim the glasses with pink or red sugar crystals. Freeze small fruits like raspberries or strawberries in ice cubes, heart-shaped of course, for a dramatic flair.  Add a heart-shaped silly straw for even more fun.

Candy Display and Party Favors: Arrange a table with a variety of pink and red candies in a various bowls. Each guest receives a heart decorated goodie bag to fill with his or her choice of sweet treats.
