Valentine's Day Nails 2014

See also

Happy February! I can't believe we already finished January off, let alone December. Time flies by, which gives us more reason to live in the moment and enjoy the little things in front of us, each and every day. Valentine's day is right around the corner and now is a great time to plan. Whether you have fancy plans with your main squeeze or just having a girls night in - why not treat yourself?

As you may know from my other articles, I am a DIY-kinda-girl. My goal is to save money by getting creative, and still have fun with a great result. Practice makes perfect, which brings me to my nails for Valentines. Last year, my Valentine's Day nails were all about layered texture. They had colorful layers and even a small amount of gold surprise. Perfect.

This year, I went with pink. First I used sheer pink, almost nude. I added hearts, once dry, in a darker pink. I left my thumbs and ring fingers bare. I then added two layers of pink sparkles to my ring fingers and thumbs. I added some of that glitter to the hearts as well. It was finished off with a top coat of Seche Vite.

You don't have to go to salon or spa in order to have great nails or even feel beautiful. You can do you still treat yourself and save money by doing your own nails exactly how you want. Have fun with it.

What are your favorite Valentines nails?
