All of the following recommendations for Valentine’s Day nail art can also be viewed in the attached slideshow.

For the DIY nail aficionado, try KISS Gel Dress, which comes in an array of Valentine’s Day colors and styles or layer KISS Nail Tattoos and Stamping Nail Art over any pink shade of imPRESS Press-On Manicure for nail fashion suitable for Valentine’s Day. The KISS Nail Art and imPRESS manicures last for up to one week and is available nationwide at CVS, Walmart and Walgreens.

Red Carpet Manicure, the at-home gel manicure system written about repeatedly in this beauty column, and also a celeb favorite of Lena Dunham and Camila Alves, along with Candace Szpeich, have provided two gel nail polish looks for those who love or loathe Valentine’s Day.

For the flirty Valentine’s Day nail art for those who can’t get enough of love’s holiday, Candace Szpeich offered the following gel manicure tutorial.

  • Apply Prep and Structure and then cure.
  • Next apply three coats of White Hot Red Carpet Manicure Gel Nail Polish and cure after each coat.
  • With the use of an RCM dotting and marbling tool, create a “dot” outline in the shape of a heart with Leading Lady, and then cure.
  • Use shades such as Take A Bow, Ooo La Liscious, Leading Lady, Red Carpet Reddy and In Style, to fill in the heart with dots of various sizes. Cure after every few hearts to prevent colors from blending.
  • Add a few flakes of silver or gold glitter for depth.
  • Lastly, apply Brilliance and cure.

If Valentine’s Day is not your box of chocolates, Candace also provided a non-conformist, Goth look gel manicure to proudly display your disdain for the holiday.

  • As above, apply Prep and Structure, and then cure.
  • Next, apply two coats of Black Stretch Limo and cure after each coat of gel nail polish.
  • Lastly, apply Brilliance and cure.
  • Red Carpet Manicure Gel Nail Polish can be found in Ulta Beauty.
