Valentine's Day: Love your community by helping pets in their time of need (Photos)

Valentine's Day is all about loving others and being loved and what better way to show your community you care than helping those in need with a donation to your local pet food pantry.

Cincinnatian's need to feed their pets or they will be forced to give up their loving cats and dogs to shelters and animal rescues due to the economy. Many of these pets have been in the family for years and losing them would mean much heartache for the pet and family of the pet.

Many owners and shut-ins have no other companions and having a cat or dog to love them means the world. It is a proven fact that pets can lower blood pressure and help heal the sick. While many families struggle feeding their children, feeding their pet, trips to the doctor or paying a bill they eventually accept they must give up their loving pet to a shelter or animal rescue.

The Cincinnati Pet Food Pantry is accepting donations of food or money to help these families. As of now they can only help 150 families a month in a city of thousands of low-income families.

Accepting Donations:

  • CPFP accepts unopened and unexpired pet food at 20 drop-off locations in the Greater Cincinnati area.
  • Financial donations are accepted to the Pet Food Pantry through PayPal.
  • CPFP needs volunteers at each event to help with food assistance.
