Valentine’s Day LOVE for your Business Colleagues

Let’s spread the love. Not the huggy-kissy type reserved for family, the agape love for those we spend so much time with day after day, week after week, the folks at work.

Agape love is so underused as a word and as an idea. Here is food for thought: AGAPE is a Greek word meaning stuff like selfless love of another without sexual implications, general affection, holding one in high regard.

I bet you could name at least half dozen people you work with held in high regard and you never really tell them.

TODAY IS THE DAY!

Send an e-mail, voice mail, text, e-card….. whatever suits your fancy and and in a few well chosen words let them know they matter to you.

And if it is a boss, don’t think of it as inappropriate. I do coaching with lots of people in higher positions at work who are starving for a few words of appreciation. Underneath their exterior of confidence is someone, just like the rest of us, who wants to be told they really matter.

So, go for it. And maybe we should find a way to bring agape love into this very frenzied world each and every day.
