Think you’ve had a bad Valentine’s day? Maybe you didn’t get any flowers or didn’t hit it off with your date. If that’s the worst thing that’s happened to you, consider yourself lucky!

Ask around, you’re likely to find lots of examples of Valentine’s days gone wrong, like I did when I asked Albuquerque residents to tell me their tales of woe.

Ellen knew that her husband wasn’t a romantic guy, but she had a feeling that he was up to something for Valentine’s day last year. For weeks he had been acting different, being a bit nicer, apologizing if he was late and even bringing dinner home one night. So when she found a receipt for a floral shop, she just knew he was really going to surprise her this year.

When the big day came, her husband got up early, made her breakfast and then told her he would have to work quite late that night to finish an important project. At first she thought it a ruse, but when he didn’t come home until after 11, her excitement turned to anger.

She angrily asked him why he didn’t spend any time with her for Valentine’s day, and where were her flowers since she found the receipt? In what had to have been the worst turn of events in V-day history, her husband blurted out that those flowers were not for her, he was having an affair with a coworker. He hadn’t been working late and his niceness was due to guilt. Ellen was devastated.

If you’re feeling lonely, consider meeting new and interesting people at the http://www.newcomersclub.com/nm.html. The purpose isn’t to hook up, but rather to join a network of friends, which is a healthier way to rebound than bar hopping!

Frankie M. once had a date with his girlfriend of 8 months on Valentine’s day. He had picked out a nice restaurant and bought a classy gift. She wasn’t ready for him when he came to pick her up, and asked him to give half an hour. He asked her if he could check his mail while he waited. “No problem,” she yelled from the bathroom.

Much to his dismay, when he turned on her computer screen, he was surprised to see her perusing one-night stand listings on Craigslist. Apparently she was quite interested in lonely local men and their naughty parts. Needless to say, they didn’t keep their romantic dinner reservation.

Don’t let a bad break up keep you down. You’re not a failure for needing help getting through a rough spot. Why not consider getting some professional help to get your head back together? Call a counselor or check out http://www.riograndecgs.com/.

So, if you find yourself unhappy this Valentine’s day, think of how bad things could really be. Kick up your heels, drink a glass of wine and count your blessings that you don’t have anybody in your life to disappoint you on this day of romance.
