Friday, Feb. 14
It's A Love Thang. Largo Community Ballroom 1701 Enterprise Road, Mitchellville, MD 20721 A night of fun, dancing, entertainment and games. Line and hand dancing, lock and key game, speed dating. emi-Formal attire (red and white). Couples and singles are welcome. Tickets avialable on EventBrite $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
Love Notes featuring Lalah Hathaway. 7 p.m. The event is hosted by First Baptist Church of Glenarden Couples Ministry. Held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott1700 Jefferson Davis Hwy Arlington, Virginia 22202. Dinner and live entertainment. Let's Fall in Love: Ann Hampton Callaway. Kennedy Center Concert Hall, 2700 F St. N.W.,Washington DC. 8 p.m. The singer-songwriter is known for her sparkling jazz renditions from the Great American Songbook, and her clever, contemporary originals. Callaway's voice blends jazz with pop, her work appealing on stage and screen. Tickets $30.
Marcus Johnson and the Urban Jam Band. 8 p.m. Strathmore Music Center, 5301 Tuckerman Ln, North Bethesda, MD 8 p.m. Master of the "urban groove," D.C. area keyboard master Marcus Johnson spikes smooth jazz with the rhythms of rap and the soul of R&B. A pre-concert Valentine's Dinner will be held from 6-7:15 p.m. in the Mansion.
