Valentine’s Day for Washington, D.C.’s Dark Romantics

 It’s only a few days before Valentine’s Day—crunch time for many of the men in Washington, DC. Are you still clueless about what to get that special someone?  Want to impress her with more than the typical?

Flowers die and chocolate melts.  Why not give your sweetheart a Valentine’s treat she will remember forever?  This year, the National Museum of Crime and Punishment is offering you with a different way to celebrate the holiday that is sure to be talked about for the rest of the year.

Imagine a night of dark adventure with your lover, where you will actually be handcuffed together during your tour of the eerie Crimes of Passion exhibit.

(Wait, did you say Handcuffs?! Sounds a little too much like a literal ball-and-chain huh?)

Well, this Valentine’s Day, Washington, DC couples have the opportunity to celebrate in a completely different atmosphere, one filled with guns, creepy stories of darker side of romance.

Candy, cards, stuffed animals, flowers and true tales of love gone tragically wrong—what every girl wants for Valentine’s Day. The Crimes of Passion Exhibit makes for an interesting night of fun and memories for couples wanting a slightly untraditional Valentine’s Day experience.

From February 11th to the 14th, couples can enjoy a special exhibit dedicated to real life accounts of true crimes of passion that have taken place right here in the Washington, D.C. Metro, including the famous tale of the “Valentine’s Vampire.” This event is perfect for couples who are fans of shows like CSI and Law & Order.

With exhibits so chilling that you will want your significant other by your side, there is no need to worry, you will be joined chain-gang-style by a pair of Valentine’s Day handcuffs during your visit.  (Hope they have family bathrooms!)  For a dollar more you can get cuddly with the furry version instead of the metal pair.

Obviously, participants MUST be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license or government ID. Tickets should be purchased beforehand  through their website www.crimemuseum.org or be get them through WILL CALL by calling (202) 621-5567.

So this year instead of the usual Valentine’s Day routine, do something on the edge with your date. It will be a holiday you both will never forget.
