With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, many are eager to enjoy a romantic dinner out on the town with their sweethearts. What, then, are some good romantic restaurant options in Idaho Falls? Places with mellow atmospheres of sophistication and culture? And, of course, exquisite dinner menus and impressive wine lists?

Taking into consideration these criteria, three restaurants come to mind. They are not the only options for fine dining in Idaho Falls, but it is probably a safe bet to say they are some of the best.

The Cellar, located at the intersection of Ammon Road and 17th Street, has become a great fixture in the community and has won fine-dining enthusiasts’ raves. The location is a remodeled century-old house, which, in and of itself makes for a unique experience. The Cellar’s menu offers delectable cuisine and serves internationally acclaimed wines, both as part of its dining room service and in the attached bar.
Serving dinner Monday through Thursday, 5:30 to 9:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 5:30 to 10:00 pm.

Collage, in downtown Idaho Falls, specializes in “ingredients and techniques from around the world”. Its menu changes seasonally, yet always offers utterly unique selections that cannot be found anywhere else in the area. Local gourmands are not disappointed with the thoughtful creations and notable wine selection at Collage. Menus may be seen at its website, including their five-course Valentine’s Day Dinner.
Serving dinner Monday through Saturday, 5:00 to 10:00 pm.

The Sandpiper, 2009’s winner of the Idaho Falls Magazine’s Dining Awards for “Best Fine Dining”, “Best Overall Restaurant”, and “Best Steak and Seafood”, is found off Lindsay Boulevard overlooking the river. The Sandpiper has a relaxed, yet refined feel, and a menu to please just about every taste. In the past six months, their wine menu has been redesigned, with the help of local wine experts at Vino Rosso, to make it even better for diners to find just what their palates are looking for.
