Valentine's Day Events at Henderson Public Libraries

Valentine's Day means love, and children love nothing better than crafting gifts for those who are special for them.

Green Valley Library

The Blind Date with a Book program will be on Feb. 12 for teens at the Green Valley Library. Participants ages 12-17 will choose a covered book based only on description. They will then be able to take it home and unwrap it in hopes they find a new favorite. An innovative way to discover new authors.

Patrons ages 12 and older can learn how to make a Valentine’s Day wreath for their front doors from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Green Valley Library. Due to limited supplies, participants must register, and there is a 10-person limit.

To register for either of these events, go online, visit or call the library at 207-4261.

Gibson Library

Children ages 3 to 5 can attend the Prince/Princess Valentine’s Day party at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, and children ages 8 to 12 can create origami Valentine’s Day cards at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the Gibson Library, 100 W. Lake Mead Parkway near downtown Henderson. Phone (702) 565-8402, register online or visit the library.
