Valentine's Day: Country couples who make marriage work

In honor of Valentine's Day, here are seven country (and Hollywood) couples who make marriage work. From the recent ups and downs of newlyweds Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, to longtime partners Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, these country stars show fame is no excuse to throw in the towel after 72 days.

Shelton and Lambert have been married since 2011, and while most say that first year of marriage is the hardest, compound that with the recent deaths of Shelton's father, Lambert's childhood friend, and even her dog of 20 years. All in the span of a few short weeks.

But the pair are hanging strong, singing "America the Beautiful" together before Super Bowl XLVI and now with Lambert joining her hubby on his hit show "The Voice."

Seems like yesterday Keith Urban and actress Nicole Kidman tied the knot, but it's actually been almost six years. Except for their occasional red carpet appearances, and concert tours or films, the two keep a fairly low profile for stars of their status.

After 15 years of working together in the music industry, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood got hitched in 2005, with a very public proposal on bent knee by the country legend.

Brad Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley have been married since 2003 and glam up red carpets events on a regular basis in Nashville.

Vince Gill and Christian vocalist Amy Grant have been married since 2000, while perhaps the couple one might consider the current king of queen of country music, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, have been formally hitched since 1996.

And if you go even further back, Clint Black and actress Lisa Hartman have stood the test of time longer than any of our couples so far -- they married in 1991.

So Hollywood, stop making excuses for all those failed marriages -- love and fame can co-exist.
