Valentine's Day cooking class

Do you want to do something special for Valentine’s Day with your sweetie? Then how about trying DC Coast’s “Cupid’s Couple’s Cooking Class. A delightful menu with wine pairings make this a special event, which will take place on Saturday, February 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DC Coast, 1401 K St., NW, 202-216-5988.

Chef Matt Kuhn will teach his pupils how to prepare a four-course, easy menu. First course will be a salt roasted chiogga beet salad with butter lettuce, country ham, and hazelnuts in a tangerine-champagne vinaigrette. Next come sweet potato gnocchi filled with apples, sage and a chestnut-cranberry crumble. The main course is pan roasted salmon with farro risotto and lobster poached in butter.

The finale to the menu is a dark chocolate banana souffle.

All this is accompanied by appropriate wines and, of course, the recipes. The class is priced at $85 per person.

Sounds like fun.
