February is a month for love. What better way than to sit down with those you love and share a book about love through the eyes of a young girl. Amelia Bedelia celebrates Valentine’s Day in the children’s book by Herman Parish, Amelia Bedelia’s First Valentine. Read how she gets ready and celebrates the day of love at home and at school. Your teacher will love it too since Amelia Bedelia books are on most ‘read for points’ lists at most schools. Enjoy a good story and make a good grade too.
After reading about how Amelia Bedelia celebrates think of ways you can celebrate also. Usually we celebrate with flowers, chocolates, and cuddly bears, so if you are in the Dallas area the Dallas Zoo invites you to come celebrate with them with a discount rate all month. That way you can take your valentine cuddly bear to visit the bears at the zoo or adopt a bear while there. After the zoo stop by the Dallas Arboretum and enjoy the beautiful winter flower gardens. They invite you to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy. Just for Valentine’s Day you may want to pick up a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy’s Pizza on the way home. Pizza goes good any day. Then, of course do not forget the chocolates from your local grocery store or drug store.
Most important of all, tell that special someone(s) that you love them and follow it with hugs and kisses. Happy Valentine’s Day.
