While you are out shopping this week, keep your eyes open for Valentine clearance sales. Most stores start clearance sales the day after Valentine's Day at 50% off, and some go up to as much as 90% off a week or two after the holiday.
Here are some ideas on things to pick up. These are items to use around your home, in your cooking or even to stash away for next Valentine's Day!
- Baking supplies: Look for cookie cutters, sprinkles, treat bags, silicone molds, cupcake liners and little candies.
- Chocolate: Pick up chocolate packaged in heart shaped boxes or with Valentine's themes on it. It still tastes just as good! Use it in baking, for fondue or just to have a piece.
- Clothing: Look for themed clothing including socks, baby bibs, shirts and even lingerie.
- Crafts: Valentine stickers, scrapbooking paper, craft kits and more. Stash these away for next year or for a Mother's Day or Father's Day project.
- Stationery: Pick up boxes of Valentines for next year's party. Also look for pencils, erasers and note cards.
- Home decor: Look for wreaths, silk flowers, linens and kitchen towels.
