“Dancing with the Stars” hunk Val Chmerkovskiy is not done with Port Charles just yet. Access Hollywood posted the exciting news on Jan. 16 on how the details are being worked out to have him back on "General Hospital."
Executive Producer Frank Valentini confirmed this as he attended the ABC post-Television Critics Association Winter Session 2013 bash last week in Pasadena, Calif. “Yes, we would love to bring Val back,” Valentini told Access. “It’s a little trickier because of scheduling, but if we can bring back Val, you may see him do a little dance with Kelly Monaco.” Val had a quick scene as a boxer on Dec. 10, 2012, with Kelly Monaco’s onscreen mom, Alexis. Actress Nancy Lee Grahn considered herself lucky to be the one chosen to have been in that particular scene with the shirtless hunk just by the look on her face.
The dancing scene with Val’s former ballroom partner, Kelly Monaco on the ABC soap will be at the infamous nurses’ ball, which has been on hiatus for a while now. Fans are thrilled that this important function will be resurrected, especially if the pro dancer will make an appearance. “Yep,” Valentini said. “We’re crossing our fingers. That one is totally based on schedule. We love Val, he loves us, he had a lot of fun [last time on the show] working with Nancy.” It sounds like all of the “GH” stars would love to have him back on the set.
Valentini said that he is open to having Val as an occasional guest star. It will be interesting to see how much chemistry Kelly Monaco still has with the Ukrainian as they finally get a scene together on the daytime drama. Right now, her character of Sam McCall is mourning the loss of mobster husband Jason Morgan, who was supposedly shot and killed. However, she has had a strong onscreen chemistry with Detective John McBain, played by actor Michael Easton, and fans would love to see those two together.
Are you excited to have Val Chmerkovskiy back on “General Hospital?” Do you think Kelly Monaco would have more chemistry with Val or with Michael Easton?
