Vail opens portions of China Bowl

There’s been a flurry of terrain-opening activity this week and Vail tops off our week of good pre-Christmas news with the announcement today that portions of China Bowl are now open.

The China Bowl openings come on the heels of terrain opening up in the Sun Up and Sun Down bowls yesterday. Vail Mountain reports that “the openings came earlier than anticipated this week thanks to hard work from Vail Ski Patrol in preparing the terrain.”

The Back Bowl terrain can be accessed by the Sun Up Lift (#17), Orient Express Lift (#21) and the Tea Cup Express Lift (#36). The expansion brings the total skiable terrain across Vail Mountain to 2,500 acres with 25 lifts open.

Stay tuned here for the latest snow conditions and terrain updates…
