Vacations are over, time to get back to work

For many people the summer means a time to go on vacation to take time out and to relax.

But now, as summer comes to an end, many people are going back to work and school. They have spent the summer creating fond memories that they will always enjoy, but now the school bell is ringing and the office or job site is beckoning.

"I enjoyed spending time at the beach with my family. We have good time just walking the beach together, talking and just relaxing. My son and I went ocean fishing twice. It really was enjoyable. But now I have to go back to my job as an office manager. I am glad to have a good job, but I still will miss the beach," said Eric Kaye.

"Vacations are always a lot of fun. You get to relax, spend time with the family and just sit back and have fun. We went to the mountains of North Carolina. The weather there is always cool and the pace of life is slower. I work in the construction field so it is important to get back to work. I am glad that I have a job to go back to. There were times when it was hard to find work," said Peter Vincennes.

"I wish we had a longer period for vacations. Americans work so hard for relatively little money. I think we need more vacation so people would have more time to recharge themselves. I only got to take one week off this summer and I would have like two or three weeks," said Ralph Gordon.

"It is good to be able to go on vacation but I am glad to be back in the classroom after a long summer break. I really did miss the kids and my fellow teachers. Sometimes I actually was bored during the summer. I think vacations are nice but I like to work," said Candice Jenkins.

Vacations are a time of rest and rejuvenation. Everyone should take at least some time off from work. Often after a longer vacation, people feel rested and ready to work even harder.
