If you're anything like the rest of us who live in Boston or the New England area, you're often taunted by how many absolutely breathtaking nearby vacation-spots there are in the Northeast that are just too expensive for you to enjoy.
Well, with the addition of what seems like another daily deal site every other day, all offering deep discounts on food, travel, and adventure-- it appears that now is the time to: take that dream vacation to Cape Cod, drive on up to Bar Harbor, or spend a week in the mountains of Vermont or New Hampshire (at up to half the usual cost!). The only problem is, how are you supposed to sniff out a good deal, when you need to hit up 7, 8, 9, or even 10 websites to see where the best travel deals are?
Simple: use daily deal aggregators like Trubates.com, DealGator.com, or Dealery.com to search out travel deals that are being offered up by myriad of daily deals websites. Don't want to go to the site every morning? You can even set your email preferences to include travel only deals, or deals on multiple areas.
Now, granted, it seems that deals have gotten a little more "meh" over the past year or so, as the market gets saturated with lackluster discounts and Groupon copycats -- but until daily deal discounts become 0%, let's consider ourselves better off for having multiple deals, multiple sites, and many ways to cash in on the savings.
A final word to the wise, before you start saving: read the fine print. You'll want to see how long the deal lasts until (some are 2 months, some are up to a year), whether it can be used on weekends and/or holidays, and if there are any other stipulations that might make it hard to meet the criteria for the discount.
Once you've done your homework, get ready to spend time at new Boston and New England vacation spots watching whales, staying at cozy cottages, taking discounted ferries, eating at great restaurants, and raking in the savings on new adventures!
