Va. liberal: I want to 'assassinate' character of teenage hunter Kendall Jones

In an interview published Sunday at the Daily Beast, Mike Dickinson, the self-described "left wing liberal" seeking the House seat currently held by Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., admitted he wants to assassinate the character of Kendall Jones, the Texas Tech hunter-cheerleader who made news with photos of animals she shot. Last Wednesday, we reported that Dickinson offered a $100,000 reward for nude photos of the 19-year-old college student.

"The point is to embarrass her a little bit, humiliate her a little bit, assassinate her character," he told the Daily Beast's Olivia Nuzzi in a 30-minute interview. He defended the move, telling Nuzzi that nude photos of Jones would assassinate her character "because these right-wing people are prudes when it comes to sex."

Ironically, he believes Republicans are engaging in a "war on women," and compared his vile attacks on Jones to GOP criticism of statements made by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

"My behavior is a war on one particular woman who has made herself a public figure," he said. He also justified his attacks by pointing a finger of blame at the NRA, a group he has called "terrorists."

"The right-wing and the NRA has shown no shame when it comes to attacking Democrats and attacking Americans. God forbid, they get worked up because one person plays as dirty as they do," he said. But the NRA has never offered a reward for nude photos of political opponents. Nevertheless, Dickinson told Nuzzi that in his view, two wrongs make a right.

Dickinson also defended his actions in an interview with talk show hosts Shan & RJ on 105.3 The Fan, CBS DFW reported Friday.

"I really deplore Kendall Jones,” he said. “She’s everything that’s wrong with America and with the way things are. We glorify this girl for going overseas and taking advantage of lax loopholes and killing these endangered animals. For fun — not to feed anybody — for fun.”

CBS, however, whitewashed Dickinson's more egregious tweets. In addition to the $100,000 bounty, he has also solicited sex stories from former boyfriends and expressed a desire to see Jones killed by wild animals. After the interviews, he posted a tweet claiming Jones' mother once worked as a stripper. He did not provide any proof to back up that assertion, however.

Nuzzi, on the other hand, posted several of Dickinson's vile tweets, including one in which he wonders if Jones uses vegetables as sex toys. Her entire interview with Dickinson can be heard here.
