David Bruckner, writer/director of the "Amateur Night" segment in the horror anthology "V/H/S," is in negotiations to direct Paramount's 'Friday the 13th' reboot. This according to a report by TheWrap.
This is not the first time Camp Crystal Lake has gotten the reboot treatment. In 2009, the Marcus Nispel directed "Friday the 13th" reboot failed to strike a chord with fans and critics alike.
The original "Friday the 13th" was released in 1980; it redefined the horror genre, spawning a slew of sequels.
Plot details for the film have been kept under wraps; however in an interview with Crave Online, Producer Brad Fuller revealed the reboot may take a found footage approach. One thing is certain though, it will involve Jason Vorhees killing a lot of sex-crazed teens.
Paramount has set a Friday, March 13, 2015 release date for the reboot.
