Happy St. Valentine’s Day. Join others in you community who are part of the 1 Billion Rising: a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls everywhere.
V-Day is a day set aside to catalyze creative events to raise awareness about the need to stop violence against women. One in three women will experience violence in their lifetimes, and V-Day will turn the world stage into an arena for events worldwide, asking women and girls to find or organize an event in your community, and stop, gather, dance and celebrate the right of all women and girls to live peacefully and free from violence.
In the San Francisco Bay area alone, there are more than 77 events planned for V-Day, February 14, 2013. Some events include:
San Francisco City Hall, Rising Up on Feb 14, 2013 5:30 PM PST

We're aiming at getting 1000 dancers! This is the second of three performances. Sign up for which performances you are committed to.”
