The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix is hosting their annual fun raiser for the Music Department. This production has been a tradition at the congregation for over 35 years and has always been reviewed as a really fun and entertaining event. Come rain or shine, Weather: an atmospheric cabaret will be held on February 22, 2014. The doors open at 6:30 pm.
This fund raiser helps to provide specialty music, anthems and maintenance on the pianos and sound equipment. The choir, which consists of long time members as well as new members of varied ages, bringing their own unique musical talents. This group forms more than a choir and band but an extended family. The music department brings spirituality in the form of music to enhance and embellish the Sunday Services each week.
The Choir Director, Connie Jarhmarkt, is an accredited director as well as a concert violinist. The Music Director, Benjie Messer, is an accomplish musician in a jazz band. The combination of talented leaders as well as gifted musicians, both vocalist and instrumentalists, is sure to bring the best performance to date, although every year it is reported to be the best year ever.
The sounds of thunder, wind and rain, combined with rich music and dance, will bring a magical feeling. Come experience the diverse weather of Arizona in the safety of the natural brick sanctuary designed by Blaine Drake.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix is located at 4027 E. Lincoln Drive in Paradise Valley. The doors open at 6:30 for social time and the show begins at 7:00. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Singles are $10.00 and Families are $25.00. There will be childcare available although the head count was requested before the show to help facilitate the number of accredited childcare workers required.
There is a cash beer and wine bar as well as a soft drink bar. Snack food and small finger desert will be available for purchase with donation baskets on tables. The requested donation for each bagged item is one dollar. See you there
