UTSA have managed an eighth place finish at the "Mo"Morial at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, TX to open their Women's Golf season with the final round on Wednesday.
Brogan Townend was the leader for UTSA as she managed to finish in 17th with a final round 72 thanks to five birdies in the final round of nine over all letting her seal a seven-over 223 with 78, 73 and 72 rounds.
UTSA managed 308 in the last round to finish with 922 with rounds earlier of 304 before a poor day on Tuesday pushed them down thanks to a 210.
Fabiola Arriaga finished one adrift of Townend with an eight-over 224 after opening with an impressive round of 71 but fell away with 76 and 77 seeing her finish tied for 20th.
Aimee Ponte had a solid start to her collegiate career as she finished level for 47th with 237 from her three rounds of 78, 80 and 79.
The winners of the tournament were Kentucky who managed an eight-over 872 and also had the individual winner in their squad as Haley Mills won thanks to a three-under 213.
