UTSA's soccer season continues to go poorly as they fell to a 2-1 loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi at Park West on Friday Night.
It was a big upset again for the Roadrunners who were beaten by former conference foes for the second time in two weeks, and both came against the odds.
It was domination from UTSA who controlled possession and territory but fell short when it came to finishing despite outshooting their opponents 21-4 throughout the match.
The Roadrunners completely dominated the Islanders in the first half with the visitors not able to get a single shot on target in the first half but UTSA found themselves constantly frustrated.
In the tenth minute UTSA went agonizingly close to finding the opener as Anissa Munson's effort came off the post allowing the Islanders keeper to gratefully grab the ball.
UTSA absolutely dominated the first half with chance after chance falling to the Roadrunners only for Audrey Baldwin to have an incredible match in goal for the Islanders.
In the 66th minute TAMUCC stunned UTSA as they hit the lead as Yvette Franco opened the scoring when Audrey Kuhl's pass was redirected by the Islander's striker to give the visitors a shock lead.
That lead only lasted for ten minutes as Brianna Livecchi made an impressive run and hit a powerful strike over the head of Baldwin to put UTSA back on level terms.
But the Islanders were not going to sit down as Franco was through one-on-one and slotted home to Bubba Makela's left to seal a 2-1 win for the visitors.
