UTSA have managed their first win away this season as they managed a 2-1 win against Old Dominion in Virginia on Sunday afternoon.
The result sees UTSA continue their solid run of form to open CUSA play as again the defense played a big hand in keeping out their opponents with 17 shots for the Monarchs.
UTSA went for the match right from the start and in the eighth minute had the opening goal of the match as Anissa Munson made a mazey run and shot passed the keeper powerfully.
That seemed to spur on Old Dominion and they really went for UTSA but again the Roadrunners defense stood firm.
The Monarchs did eventually find an equalizer as a poor defensive pass allowed Alexis Thomas to run on to the ball and get through to beat Bubba Makela.
In the 53rd UTSA came back and restored their lead as Kaytee O'Brien chipped over the Old Dominion defense for Happy Orere-Amadu getting in behind and striking powerfully to put the Roadrunners in front.
From there out it was solid defense from the Roadrunners with Bubba Makela continuing her impressive season as the Roadrunners closed out the match for a 2-1 victory.
The win leaves UTSA 2-1-1 in Conference USA play putting them third in the Western Division giving them a bye in the first round of the tournament as things stand.
