UTSA have recovered from their loss last week as they managed an impressive 3-0 victory over Southern Miss on Friday night at the Park West Athletic Complex.
The win was the biggest for UTSA this season, the first time they'd scored more than three goals as they managed their third conference win of the campaign.
Bubba Makela looked rarely troubled in the UTSA goal as she managed to make the two saves she was called upon to do easily earning another clean sheet.
It was a tight first half with both teams doing well but not able to break through two stern defenses as the sides went to the break scoreless.
The second half was a different story as UTSA came out from the break determined to get the lead and took it to Southern Miss right from kick off.
UTSA took the lead in the first minute after the break as Happy Orere-Amadu was found by Taylor Wingerden on the edge of the area and hit a powerful strike to put the Roadrunners 1-0 up.
It didn't take long for the Roadrunners to make it two as Wingerden had her second assist of the night when she crossed for Brianna Livecchi wh o was able to head home the cushioning goal.
It was all Roadrunners throughout the final 45 minutes as they easily controlled possession denying the Golden Eagles any real chance at goal.
With UTSA cruising they were able to make plenty of changes and it was one of those changes that put the icing on the cake in the later stages as a rebound allowed Courtney Bertholf to tap home the winning goal.
