UTSA had two players honored with Conference USA Men’s Tennis accolades as Tomas Stillman and Joel Rubio made All-Conference Teams, the league office announced on Thursday.

Stillman collected three honors, having been named to the Second-Team Singles list and the Second Team Doubles list as well as being named newcomer year.

Stillman was joined in the second-Team Doubles list by his doubles partner Rubio, after an impressive season, saw the pair named to the team.

Stillman only lost two singles matches, apparently not enough to make the first team, but with a 13-1 No. 2 record and 8-1 No. 4 record he had an impressive year.

Stillman managed to win his 20 of his last 21 matches, winning 18 of his 21 wins in straight sets, managing a perfect 6-0 against his CUSA opponents.

It was a great debut season for Stillman who managed the Newcomer of the Year after transferring from Toledo in 2014 as he started his UTSA career and CUSA career.

Rubio and Stillman’s combination netted a 15-7 record while winning all seven of their matches at the No. 2 position in an impressive run out of the year.

It was an impressive start to the season that really brought the UTSA pair some noteriety as they managed to debut in the ITA National Doubles Rankings at 16th.

That was the highest ranking ever achieved by a UTSA pairing and they remained nationally ranked for much of the season, only falling out of the rankings after April 15th.

The start to the season for the doubles pairing was phenomenal as they went ten matches without a defeat to kick off their season, leading to the high ranking.

It was a solid year for UTSA Tennis as they managed to compete in COnference USA and will be looking to build on that in 2015.
