Who’s ready for some horse show fun!? In less than six weeks, this year’s Vista Farms’ fun show series will start off with a schooling event on Saturday, April 5th.

If you missed the opportunity to participate in these playful gatherings last year, why not begin brushing up on your riding or groundwork skills now so you’ll be ready to join in come April?

Classes offer extensive variety, from showmanship and breed halter (ideal for those who prefer not to ride but have well behaved youngsters or green equines that aren’t quite ready for the under-saddle events) to English classes (all are on the flat; no jumping) or western pleasure.

The riding groups are divided into youth and adult, and there are simple walk-trot classes for beginning riders or green horses of any age. The more advanced classes are a great way for seasoned competitors to brush up on their skills in the show pen and polish their performances for the year’s bigger competitions!

Relaxed, inviting and casual, the environment at Vista Farms puts everyone at ease. No special attire is required; as long as you’re dressed comfortably and tastefully you are welcome to participate! Training equipment is permitted and riders can take part in any class using western, English or dressage tack.

Ribbons are awarded to the top finishers in places first through sixth in every class! There are additional “Vista Buck” awards for those who take the first place honors (use them to acquire special prizes at the Vista store) and there is even an end-of-series prize for riders who participate in every fun show throughout the 2014 season.

This year’s events will take place on April 5th, May 3rd, June 21st, July 26th and August 23rd, with the series wrapping up at the season’s much-anticipated Halloween costume show on October 25th. Organizer Mandy Allred always goes out of her way to make sure these shows are well run, allowing every participant to have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Check out the Vista Farms website for additional details about class schedules, affordable entry fees, barn and board information, riding lessons, horse training and more!

While Vista has many Arabian horse residents, all breeds are welcome at their fun shows. If you don’t own a horse but are interested in either leasing or purchasing, be sure to take a look at their online listing of available horses.

Venture out to nearby Vista Farms (located conveniently near Bangerter and 9400 South in South Jordan) for the popular 2014 fun show series!
