It’s already time for another of Vista Farms’ popular schooling shows ( Saturday, September 7, 2013).
Conveniently located in West Jordan, just east of Bangerter on 3400 West and 9400 South, the barn is easy to find (click here to see the website and get directions to the stables) and offers plenty of parking space for competitor’s rigs or spectator vehicles.
Riders of all ages and experience levels and horses of any breed are welcome to participate in this very affordable fun show. The cost of each class is only $5.00 (plus a $10.00 grounds fee charged at the time of registration). You’ll find the usual assortment of both English/hunt seat and Western events. Be sure to sign up only for the events you’re sure you’ll ride in; there is no refund if you need to pull out. The Vista website offers a complete class list and schedule.
English flat classes start at 9:00 a.m., followed by the in-hand and Western classes after the lunch break at approximately 1:00 p.m. Ribbons are awarded to the top five places in every class. First-place winners also get “Vista bucks” that can be traded in for a prize in the Vista store. Dress is casual. All riders age 18 and under MUST wear a helmet and adult participants are encouraged to do so as well.
There is no fee for spectators, though all are asked to be respectful of the competitors and their horses. No climbing on the facility’s fences or trees, and excessive noise or activity that may distract or competitor is prohibited.
