The Utah Coalition on Illegal Immigration has once again called on Utah’s law enforcement officials to uphold their oaths of office and to protect Utah’s children from the 75% of illegal aliens who are committing the felonies of document fraud and/or identity theft.
Coalition officials also recognized the efforts of Utah Workforce Services in 2005 and 2007 to bring the rampant misuse of children's Social Security numbers by illegal aliens to the attention of policy makers and law enforcement authorities.
According to the Coalition, “Attorney General Shurtleff and Chief Burbank need to follow the example of Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona by getting out and arresting illegal aliens using false documents and the identifying information of Utah kids. They must stop granting illegal aliens virtual immunity from these major felonies in order to build good relations with the illegal immigrant community.”
The Coalition noted that public outrage continues to grow following news reports that 34 of 36 Social Security numbers on the list of 1,300 names released by two employees of the Department of Workforce Services were found to be invalid.
Public officials are increasingly aware of public sentiment and, according to the Salt Lake Tribune, “A Utah Attorney General’s Office spokesman….clarified it will review invalid Social Security numbers noted on the list of alleged undocumented immigrants and determine if any state crimes were committed.”
State crimes may very well have been committed, because, unlike Utah’s Congressional delegation that fails to take action against federal policies and laws that protect illegal alien identity thieves, the Utah state legislature has made the use of another person’s Social Security number, either knowingly or unknowingly, a felony under Utah law.
Therefore, if the Social Security numbers released were being used by someone other than the person they were assigned to, a state crime (felony) will have been committed.
However, according to the Coalition, in spite of rampant illegal alien driven identity theft and Utah laws designed to combat it, many of Utah’s senior law enforcement officials, including Utah’s Attorney General and the Salt Lake City police chief, routinely violate their oaths of office by protecting illegal aliens who are using fraudulent documents and the identifying information of tens of thousands of Utah children.
As early as 2005, officials of the Department of Workforce Services brought the problem of illegal alien identity theft to the attention of the Utah Attorney General’s office and yet in 2006 Attorney General Mark Shurtleff told a large crowd of illegal aliens that he would not arrest them.
The failure of state and local law enforcement officials to pursue these major crimes resulted in a doubling of the number of children on Workforce Services rolls who were victims of these crimes between 2005 and 2007. (The number of children on public assistance under 12 years old who had their Social Security numbers being used primarily by illegal aliens to get jobs increased from 1,800 in 2005 to 4,000 in 2007).
Based on these Workforce Services figures, it is estimated that the total number of children under 12 years old in Utah who are victims of illegal alien driven identity theft rose from around 18,000 in 2005 to 40,000 in 2007. The number of child victims in 2010 is likely to be significantly higher given constantly growing number of illegal aliens in the state.
Despite the harm done to tens of thousands of Utah children, Attorney General Shurtleff continues to focus his attention uniquely on the manufacturers of fraudulent documents. He does not arrest the illegal aliens who purchase and use the phony documents and stolen identities. This policy grants illegal aliens immunity from arrest for document fraud and/or for using the identifying information of Utah children.
Likewise, Chief Burbank of Salt Lake City refuses to arrest any of the estimated 75% of illegal aliens committing document fraud and/or identity theft although both of these crimes are major felonies.
Furthermore, in order to support and protect illegal aliens, Chief Burbank co-authored a study clearly designed to understate illegal driven identity theft.
The study analyzed his department’s crime statistics on identity theft. Not surprisingly, since his department grants virtual immunity to the 75% of illegal aliens committing document fraud and identity theft, the study concluded that illegal aliens do not commit identity theft at an inordinately high rate.
The Coalition will continue its efforts to get law enforcement officials to take action against the 75% of illegal aliens committing serious, job-related felonies.

We resident American citizens will eventually be effective in protecting ourselves from the gross invasion of mostly Mexican nationals who are flooding our country and consuming tax resorces unlawfully. The Federal government has abandoned one of it's most important duties in not protecting our borders and strictly enforcing Title 8 USC Immigration Law. Do our government people think they can selectively enforce only the laws they want to? Did it ever occur the reason why we have Title 8.0 USC? It was to prevent a mess like what Arizona, and taxpayers are having to deal with statewide!

The invaders are greedy, callous and cold-hearted. They victimize our children, our workers and their families by committing felonies in an unholy alliance with greedy, corrupt employers.
