The University of Texas men's golf team is on a roll as of late moving up to number four in Golfweek's current college team rankings with their most recent tournament win coming at the Puerto Rico Classic last month. This weeks tournament is the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters at the Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas, NV.

The tournament field is stacked with some of the best young talent in all of college golf featuring six of college's top ten individual players. Not to mention eight of the top fifteen teams on Golfweek's team rankings will be playing this weekend. Fans will definitely be watching some of the PGA's "stars of tomorrow."

The Longhorns have a solid team all-around which is currently being led by freshman, Cody Gribble. This southpaw golfer dominated competition at Highland Park High School in Dallas, winning two Texas class 4A individual championships, and he looks to be carrying this trend on into the college ranks. Gribble has finished in the top three in four of his six appearances this season, including a 2nd place finish at the Puerto Rico Classic in February.

Another young gun on UT's team is Dylan Fritelli (sophomore), who is the team's leading scorer with a 71.13 stroke average. Fritelli managed a tie for 4th place in Puerto Rico and has cracked the top-five three times this season. Bobby Hudson (71.77 avg), Lance Lopez (72.20 avg), and Charlie Holland (73.25 avg) round out the starting five for Texas. The Texas team could nab back-to-back tournament wins this weekend with the Collegiate Masters wrapping up on Sunday, March 14th.
