Usurper Vong returns with a free show at The Blank Club

Eclectic rock is right. The funky, mind-contortionistas at Usurper Vong have been away for a spell, but in the spirit of absence, things might get ferocious at The Blank Club on Wednesday (Feb. 20) for a FREE, triple-bill show.

The quintet of Aaron Feldman (guitar), Derek Gomez (vocals), Joyce Kuo (drums) and Peter Allen (bass) deal out a brand of funk rock that is entirely voltaic in essence. Recently, the act made Santa Clara University radio's top 30 list with a track off their debut release, Vong Songs, Volume 1. Now, after a some weeks of rehearsal, the Vong lets loose with a live show that will "titillate your aural cavities."

In support, San Jose's melodic, math-rock specialists, Chronoscopes will take stage, along with local emo trio, Profile of a Line.

Doors open at 9 p.m, and as always, The Blank Club is 21+.
