The USTA is no stranger to giving grants and assisting with the cleanup of public tennis facilities and that legacy will carry on in Jacksonville. The USTA says it will refurbish courts at the Clanzel T. Brown Park tennis facility, located right in the heart of Jacksonville. This is part of the USTA’s Davis Cup Legacy program. The program, which is over 10 years old, is designed to leave a permanent tennis legacy and "give back" in the communities which host Davis Cup ties in the United States.
The USTA hopes this promotes 10 and Under Tennis and youth tennis in Jacksonville, Fla., which hosted the Davis Cup World Group First Round against Brazil.
One of the courts at Clanzel T. Brown Park will be converted into four permanent 36-foot 10 and Under Tennis courts with fencing, nets, and center straps.
The seven other courts will be resurfaced and have blended lines placed on the courts to make them 60-foot 10 and Under Tennis courts.

We are proud to work with the City of Jacksonville to achieve this goal and leave a permanent footprint in this Davis Cup town with the Davis Cup Legacy.”

The project is expected to cost $42,000 ,and it is jointly funded by the USTA, the USTA Florida section, and the City of Jacksonville.
The Davis Cup Legacy, USTA Professional and Community tennis partner will leave a lasting memory in communities that host Davis Cup ties.
The U.S. is playing Brazil in the this first round Davis Cup tie. If the U.S. wins, they will host Serbia and world No. 1Novak Djokovic in the second round.
