USMS seek public help to locate fugitive, Wade Lohse

The U.S. Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force has joined forces with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in the hunt for a known violent fugitive who fled from his trial.

Wade Lohse, 43, is wanted by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office after he disappeared on trial date. Lohse is currently facing charges of: vehicular homicide, felon in possession of a firearm and simple burglary. Records show the vehicular homicide charge followed a June 10, 2012 crash in which Lohse was allegedly drunk and driving his Jeep Cherokee south on the Youngsville Highway at about 11:30 p.m., court documents say. Lohse’s Jeep crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle driven by Cacie Barras McGrew, 29, who was killed in the accident.

Lohse has not been seen by his attorney, police or prosecutors since he announced at around 10:45 a.m. March 25 that he had to deposit coins in one of the parking meters that ring the courthouse, Capt. Kip Judice of the sheriff’s office, and Lohse’s attorney, Thomas Alonzo, said.

Lohse has a criminal history dating back 25 years. He has been convicted of the following offenses: burglary, carrying a prohibited weapon, aggravated assault on police, weapons violation and carjacking all in New Jersey. He has also been convicted for burglary in Pennsylvania, and a felon in possession of a firearm in New Orleans. Lohse has had a number of other violent arrests that did not result in conviction.

Lohse is a white male who is 5’11” tall and weighs 210 pounds. Law enforcement officers consider Lohse to be armed and dangerous.

If you have information on Lohse’s whereabouts, contact the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force at (337)319-4086 or (337) 251-6921. All information will remain confidential and a cash award is available for information leading to Lohse’s arrest.
