I feel that it's very important to use your talents wherever you can. Whether it's cooking, cleaning, sewing or reading, you can do something to help someone else. All you have to do is recognize your talents and find a place to exhibit them.
For instance, I was asked to cook dinner for our church's youth group. I have two daughters in the youth group and no one has asked me before so I said sure! Why not? So I did. I made several casseroles for the kids and they ate them right up! Add to the plate some banana pudding and they were rocking it! And guess what? I've been asked to do it again. How cool is that? I absolutely love to cook and this is one area I can use my talents in.
Another thing which happens to be at our church is our women's ministry. We have several women who are dedicating their Thursday nights for the next six weeks to share how to be a better wife, woman, and mother with other young women. So we have some women who are mentoring, some who are teaching ladies to cook a very cool dessert and others who are using their talents in decorating tables for the women to sit at. I think it's a very good use of their talents!
Do you have a talent? Have you put it to use whether it's a church, your children's school or the local community? If you have, please share below and if not, try to figure out what you do best and share it with others!
