Using one's talent: How-to make trail mix

The neat thing about being creative was that one got to make their own versions of things. My mother, sister and me love Germack products sold on QVC. When my sister came over for Christmas last year, she bought everyone a jar of this. Mine dissappeared at the end of two weeks. There was another jar given to all just recently after my aunts passed away. My sister sent a box of their personal effects last month in which the mix was in there.

After running out of the regular junk food fare like Nutella, pepper jack cheese slices, peanut butter, graham crackers, and popcorn, the Germack Mix was eaten within the week. It was disappointing, when speaking to my sister, to find out that because of the heat QVC did not ship this in the summer because the chocolate, white chocolate, and peanut butter chips would have melted. This happened to me after ordering chocolate coffee candy. Upon getting the item from Boca Java, the candy melted. This was when my sadness turned to joy in discovering that there were only three ingredients needed to make this mix myself. They were: dried cranberries, cashews, and peanut butter chips.

Ingredients:

  1. one-fourth cup of dried cranberries or Craisins
  2. one-fourth cup of cashews
  3. one-fourth cup of peanut butter chips
  4. one-fourth cup of white chocolate chips
  5. one-fourth cup of chocolate chips
  6. one-fourth cup of raisins

In making this it didn't have to fill the 18 ounce plastic container the original mix came in. one could've made as much or as little as they wanted and there was no baking involved. All one needed was a sandwich bag or a small container like a butter cup with a lid. Place all the ingredients in the plastic bag or container, close and shake to mix it up.

Luke 19:12-19 said:

12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. (KJV)

Christmas was six months away. When God gave one the idea, it was their duty to run with it. While this talent, a skill that earned one money, did not make any money for me, because several people beat me to the punch. There wasn't any need for another container of the mix sold on QVC, now that the talent was in my head.
