At first, the thought is cringe worthy—dating my LinkedIn network? A new mobile app wants to change all that, and make it much easier for you and your connections to, ahem, mix business with pleasure.

LinkedUp! is billing itself as the first interactive mobile dating app that lets users find matches through their professional LinkedIn network. It allows you to anonymously like or pass user profiles and see mutual connections, interests and backgrounds, enabling you to fully assess your potential date through LinkedIn's trusted network.

Making romantic connections through social media is a growing trend. According to a New York Times story, 15% of people recently surveyed have used social media to ask someone out. LinkedUp! joins other online dating sites like CoffeeMeetsBagel in leveraging social networks to help singles click.

“With each carefully curated profile, you get a very true sense of who someone is,” says LinkedUp! spokesperson Rachel Venturino. “Where they are from, where they go to school and what do they do, giving users a sense of comfort and trust–– which is why a growing number of LinkedIn users are relying on the platform for a quality date.”

LinkedIn is one of the top five social networks, with nearly 300 million members.

Worried a LinkedIn connection will see your dating ‘likes’? LinkedUp! promises to never post anything on the site.Wondering if LinkedUp! is for you? Test the free mobile now at iTunes.
