Using herbs for health and well-being class held at Woodstown LDS chapel

Some say that plants are like people. If that's so, then herbs are the doctors of the plant world. Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme are among some of the many herbal plants possessing great healing powers. To show the community the benefits of these natural remedies, a "Using Herbs for Health and Well-being" class will be hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1194 Kings Highway in Woodstown. The class, part of the PENT: Prepare Every Needful Thing program, will take place on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.

Participants will learn how to prepare elderberry syrup to boost the immune system during this cold and flu season. Additionally, instructors will be on hand to teach the difference between infusion, decoction and fomentation and how to use them. Making and using tinctures and using essential oils safely and effectively are subjects also on the agenda.
