Tea Tree Oil is extracted from the leaves and twigs of the Melaleuca tree in New South Wales, Australia. The tree has needle-like leaves and heads of sessile yellow or purplish flowers and grows to about 20 feet high. Even when this tree is cut down, it flourishes and is ready for cutting again in two years.

Precautions: Tea tree oil is considered a safe oil, as it is non-toxic and non-irritant, but some individuals may show sensitizing to this oil. It should not be used on deep wounds or near the eyes, ears, nose or internally.

Uses: Tea Tree oil is one of the most used essential oils. It is a powerful immune stimulant and as such, helps fight infections of all kinds and helps clear the skin. Use this oil to treat these common ailments in your baby: congestion, eczema, diaper rash, and fungal infections like cradle cap.

Burn, diffuse or vaporize in baby’s room to relieve congestion and other similar respiratory conditions like bronchitis, and sinusitis.

Eczema and Diaper Rash:
Add 2 to 3 drops to a warm bath or create an essential oil blend using either Avocado oil or Calendula oil as the carrier oil and apply directly to the affected areas.

Cradle Cap:
Create an essential oil blend using either Calendula oil or Jojoba oil as the carrier oil and massage directly into the scalp. Wait 30 minutes. Brush gently to loosen dry scalp and wash thoroughly.
