User video shows oil in layers on Pensacola Beach, Florida buried in sand, video shot September 15 (video)

A new user video has been filmed and uploaded to YouTube showing layers of oil in the once pristine white sands of Pensacola Beach, Florida.  As the southern Gulf coastal states try to rebound from months of catastrophic oil washing ashore and crippling tourism and travel industries, many have started to feel comfortable with the thought that the oil spill is over.  Researchers such as Samantha Joye from the University of Georgia say this is not the case.

In fact, Samantha Joye says there are mile long plumes of oil underwater indicating that the BP oil spill did not simply disappear but sunk to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, where its full effect is not yet known.

In the following video you can see Gregg Hall (known as Pensacola Gregg) who has followed the oil trail from the early days of the spill.  You can also see as he walks along Pensacola Beach and shows the dark stains of oil, clearly visible in the sand.
