There are literally thousands of Las Vegas travel guides for prospective visitors to select from for trip planning. Googling the phrase "Las Vegas travel guides" produced 22.8 million results as we began our research for this article. Basic types of guides are available in hard copy print, online sites, and offline digital apps ( iPad, Blackberry, iPhone, and iPod users).
Each of these guide types have differing levels of appeal for divergent types / groups of travelers. It appears to this author that nearly all humans under the age of 30 ( or 40? ) utilize digital phones and apps technologies to do anything / everything besides their laundry these days...and that app is likely on it's way. These innovations are here to stay and emphasize inexpensive convenience both for Vegas trip planning and fingertip - accessible info upon arrival. Other travelers can prepare for their trip by perusing numerous online Las Vegas travel guides. Lastly, the dinosaurs among us still find appeal in the old - fashioned printed guides that we can use for trip planning and toss them in our luggage for use as a reference while in Vegas. Obviously, traveler age is at least partially correlated with selected guide types. Multitasking travelers may use a combination of all three basic types to both plan and enjoy their trip upon arrival.
Important considerations in Vegas travel guide selection include accuracy and currency of practical information, comprehensiveness, special interest sections, provision of maps, and ease of use (reading and / or navigating the guide or site ). At a bare minimum, any useful Vegas travel guide should contain info regarding travel options ( getting there ), in - town transportation and navigation ( maps ), hotels, special events / convention dates, attractions, shows, dining, nightlife, gaming, and references / links to obtain further info. Further, a good current guide should include objective travel trends describing currently popular locales and attractions.
