Use Google bike maps and add more exercise to your life

March 11, 2010 - Wisconsin is one of the most bicycle-friendly states in the nation. In fact, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), The League of American Bicyclists ranked Wisconsin #2 in the nation and #1 in the Midwest for bicycling. Spring is a great time to take advantage of local trails and even incorporate biking into your daily commute. And now, thanks to Google, finding ways to bike to work or for fun is easier than ever before.

Yesterday Google announced the addition of biking directions to Google Maps. According to their press release "This new feature includes: step-by-step bicycling directions; bike trails outlined directly on the map; and a new 'Bicycling' layer that indicates bike trails, bike lanes, and bike-friendly roads."

You can learn more about Wisconsin's Bike Touring Trails by visiting the DNR's website.
