USAFA $80,000 Pagan ritual site up and running

The United States Air Force Academy has a place for people who follow major religions to worship; however, they lacked a place for Pagans to worship until now.

Now that the Pagan ritual site is up, about four to seven of the 4,300 USAFA Cadets meet each week at the new USAFA Pagan site, which is called the Cadet Chapel Falcon Circle. The cadets put in a request for the building last year. The Cadet Cahpel Falcon Circle cost $80,000 to build.

This is a major step for Pagans in the armed forces because up until recently the military denied any practice of Paganism within the military, at least out in the open. It was just in 2008 that the VA even denied for a Wiccian symbol to be put on a Veteran's grave. It has been a long struggle for military Pagans to have religious freedom like other religions.

The Pagan Institute has done a report on the Military and Paganism. For those who are in the military and are Pagans, here is a list of Pagan groups on or around different military bases.

The military fight for our freedom and rights so it is just fair that they should also be included in the First Amendment and have Freedom of Religion. They deserve to worship as they would like, just like everybody else.
