Sunday’s 2014 FIFA World Cup (Copa Mundial de Futbol Brasil) TV schedule and live streaming coverage concludes with a terrific (Group G) match up between the United States and Portugal on ESPN (national TV broadcast/live stream online), Univision (en vivo/En Español) and CBC-Canada. Arena Amazônia in Manaus, Brazil, will host this highly anticipated affair, which could decide who advances to the tourney’s Round of 16.

According to a Washington Post (June 22) World Cup preview, while this is only the United States’ second match, it could be Team USA’s defining moment of the tournament. Opening kickoff is scheduled for just after 6 p.m. Eastern Time (5 p.m. CT/4 p.m. MT/3 p.m. PT) and as stated above, ESPN, Univision and CBC will handle national TV broadcasting duties, while WatchESPN will cover all the online (live streaming) bases.

Because hardcore soccer/football fans have been so appreciative of what ESPN’s family of networks has accomplished with its Internet coverage thus far, it’s only fair to move the live stream viewing options to the top of the priority list. Just like it’s been all tournament long, pre-game coverage for tonight’s 2014 FIFA World Cup finale gets underway two hours before the aforementioned TV start time with the following options (ESPN3 live streaming options/Eastern Times):

(4 p.m.) Pre-Match Coverage - United States vs. Portugal (2014 FIFA World Cup)
(5 p.m.) United States vs. Portugal (Group G) (2014 FIFA World Cup)
(5:55 p.m.) Highlight Reel - United States vs. Portugal (2014 FIFA World Cup)
(5:55 p.m.) Portuguese Audio - United States vs. Portugal (2014 FIFA World Cup)
(5:55 p.m.) Tactical Cam - United States vs. Portugal (2014 FIFA World Cup)
(5:57 p.m.) Em Português - Estados Unidos vs. Portugal (Grupo G) 2014 FIFA World Cup
(8 p.m.) Post-Match - United States vs. Portugal (2014 FIFA World Cup)

As far as TV viewing options are concerned, English-speaking soccer fans, futbol (Español) aficionados, and bilingual viewers have a decision to make. Given the magnitude of this match, English and Spanish TV networks agree on one thing: This game between the United States and Portugal is so crucial that it demands a one-hour pre-match TV show rather than the usual half-hour schedule.

ESPN’s TV coverage gets underway at 5 p.m. ET with 2014 FIFA World Cup Match Day, followed by the actual match at 5:30 p.m. ET. Those watching Univision (en vivo), their pre-game show will consist of a half-hour presentation of Republica Deportiva: Edicion Mundial. Also keep in mind that Univision Deportes will also be streaming this match live online with Spanish commentary (Internet).

As far as the actual match is concerned, it’s certainly worth noting that soccer oddsmakers list Portugal as -125 betting favorites despite the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo (knee injury) may not play. Thus, the United States comes in as a +270 underdog, the odds of a draw are +250 and the OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 2½ goals.

How will this all play out live from beautiful Arena Amazônia in Manaus, Brazil: Does the United States really have a 12th man in Brazil as expressed by Clint Dempsey, or will Portugal prove oddsmakers right by bouncing back with a huger victory over Team USA?

Don’t miss a moment of the action by tuning to ESPN, Univision (en Español) or CBC for the live national TV broadcast. Meanwhile, those watching online also have the option of streaming USA vs. Portugal live on ESPN (English) or Univision Deportes (en vivo) in Spanish.
