The USA Sevens international rugby tournament, the largest rugby tournament in North America, is underway in Las Vegas, Nev. The tournament runs Feb. 8-10. Sixteen national teams are competing in 45 matches at Sam Boyd Stadium in the fifth of nine stops.
The rugby tournament is played with just seven players per team on a traditional-size field. Matches have seven-minute halves with two-minute intervals for pool and knock-out matches. The result is a fast-paced matches that are short in duration.
Las Vegas welcomed the USA Eagles with a pep rally at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and were treated to a back-stage experience with the Blue Man Group. A Parade of Nations on Fremont Street welcomed all USA Sevens teams.
