The USA Pro Challenge kicked off today August 18, 2014 and will continue through August 24, 2014. The cycling event has become one of the largest events in the nation and it is definitely the largest spectator event in Colorado. Come out and watch cyclist race through the beautiful cities of Colorado, culminating at the Colorado State Capital. The best athletes in professional cycling will be racing through Aspen, Aspen-Crested Butte, Gunnison-Monarch Mountain, Colorado Springs, Woodland Park-Breckenridge, Vail, and Golden-Denver. There will be a festival and awards ceremony in Civic Center Park immediately following the conclusion of the race. Cycling is a great way to keep fit and for those interested check out Denver B-cycle, a bike sharing system but also a great way to stay in shape, there are year around memberships and $8 daily passes. If you are not a cyclist there are plenty of other ways to stay fit in Denver and surrounding cities, which have hosted fitness events such as Civic Center MOVES, Yoga on the Rocks, Fitness on the Rocks, and many more. Please remember that many fitness events will continue through September so it is never too late to get started. Civic Center MOVES continues through September and the cost is free.
