The United States were still without their top player, Amanda Kessel, who is out with a lower body injury. The Canadians meanwhile had a healthy offensive lineup as Hayley Wickenheiser and Marie-Philip Poulin returned from lower body injuries.Poulin in fact scored one of Canada's goals.
