USA Hockey fans had a nostalgic moment on Sunday morning when they watched the USA men’s hockey team take on the Slovenia players and it had nothing to do with the action on the ice. It was a very moving moment when the team hit the Sochi ice wearing the 1960 Olympic gold medal uniforms. According to For the Win on Sunday, the jerseys are classic and rich with history.

The look definitely caught some viewers by surprise, but it also brought up the memories of the 1960 Olympic game. Coming from being in an underdog position, Team USA defeated Czechoslovakia. It was the first-ever Olympic gold medal in hockey for the United States.

Now Team USA fans are hoping for another gold, but even if that wish doesn't come true there is the memory of that day on the ice. After USA beat Russia on Saturday, there has been plenty of talk about gold for Team USA by the fans.

Will the team make the podium? After beating Slovenia on Sunday there is a good chance that the team will medal. Of course it would be perfect if the final game was against Canada, but then again hockey fans can’t always get what they wish for. It might happen though.

Take a look at the 1960 gold medal jerseys worn at the Olympics on Sunday by Team USA.
